Comment | Frethun in the Marches of Calais, diocese of Therouanne, in the Archbishop's immediate jurisdiction.
Confusion over dating, given as 1541, but should be 1542. 1542 confirmed by presentation dated 17 Oct. 1541, and delivered 14 June 1542.; Letters & Papers of Henry VIII, vol. 17, p.259 (32). This notes that the benefice was vacant on the 'resignation' of John Crayford, [who had been presented to Frethun in 1536], But he didn't die until 1547. Emden, A biographical register of the University of Oxford, 1501-1540, p.149 (Crayforth).
