Comment | Commission to exercise ecclesiastical and spiritual jurisdiction in the town and other places in the Marches of Calais, in the diocese of Therouanne. He is empowered to proceed in all causes, both office and instance; prove will of those not having bona notabilia in the province of Canterbury, visit all churches, chapels, clergy and people, and punish all crimes. He may institute and induct all clergy to benefices, and may licence a bishop who had obtained his episcopal title from the King to confirm children, consecrate churches etc.
