| Comment | the Register actually states William, Bishop of Salisbury as the patron, but Bishop Gilbert didn't die until 1715. On the other hand, this parish was presented by William Wake in 1697, who became Bishop of Lincoln in 1705. I have presumed that it is he who was presenting in this case and in his own right, rather than in the right of his episcopy. |
