Comment | Harison became Master but the word is not used except in a reference to his predecessor (Compton). He would also have been, by virtue of the office but not mentioned in the entry, rector of St Faith Winchester. Compton, of course, was tanslated (the verb in the entry - not promotion) from Oxford to London at which point he gave up St Cross. I cannot see anything establishing patronal/episcopal rights. |
