CommentNote that he was the eldest son of John and Mary Colles who were residents of St Catherine's parish in the suburbs of Dublin in 1702 and were always reputed Protestants. He was baptized according to the usage of the Church of Ireland in December 1702 but the register was not properly kept and his baptism was omitted from the register.
