| This caveat resulted from a complaint by Robert Wilmot of Osmaston near Derby on 3 Oct 1730 that Alleyne (a Deacon) had, without the knowledge of himself or his wife, conducted a marriage of his only daughter in a grove near his house. Alleyne was ordained Deacon by the Bishop of Lincoln. The Bishop of Lichfield 'has ordered a prosecution against him. |
