Petition to William, Archbishop of Canterbury: "The humble petition of Thomas Holloway sheweth that the pet'ner hath taken his degree of aster of Arts in Trinity Colledge in Cambridge where he hath bent his studies to Divinity and is desirous to take upon him the sacred office of a Minister of Gods Word. That the pet. is aged about seaven and thirty years and is to be ordained by the Lord Bishop of Sarum at the next ordination. Wherefore he humbly praieth your Grace to grant a Dispensacion to the said L'd B'p of Sarum to ordaine the pet. Priest and Deacon together at one and the same time." "Fiat. W.Cant." the date is the date of the "Fiat" not the petition. |
