This subscription is included on a loose sheet and appears a lengthy transcription of the "Tre Articali in Canone 36th Contenti Ar: 1603".
An additional loose sheet provides a great deal of extra information regarding Mr Hughes. Written at Pewsey on 18/11/1697, it states that he was ordained deacon by John, Ld Bishop of Oxford in the collegiate church of Mary Magdalen , Oxford on 24/09/1693. It gives details of certain officials from St Mary Hall who provided testimonials etc, including Mr Wyatt, Principal and Robert Whithall, vice principalIt also states that he was nominated to the cure of Hurst by Mr Fairfax.
Marginal notes indicate that he was licenced 22/12/1697. |
