Forename could be Joshua or John. I read it as Josus or Josas (with a stroke over the word) in text and Josan** in signature) or John. Howver, the signature looks a little like Josan with an e as the next or next but one letter.

However it the third letter in both text and signature looks like an s.The college is missing: it looks to start with 'au', but could be 'ae'.
I had taken it to be a Joshau Dycus of one of the halls. However, from Foster, Al Ox and the BNC register, the closest fit would appear to be John Dicus of Brasenose (BA 7/2/1611 os). |
