Comment | 26 Signs himself priest. I think this is probably an appointment. Williams on 11/12/1628 (p. 26), signed himself as deacon. Now five months later he signs himself 'Presbiter', implying that he was then ordianed deacon and now priest. 'Islippe' in the margin seems to refer to where the subscription took place, but is ambiguous, and could refer to where appointed. |
