Comment | Described as Samuel Broade, junior
Note that Samuel Broade told the Bishop of Gloucester at Chelsea on 23/06/1708 that the Dean and Chapter of Gloucester Cathedral were willing to present him to the rectory of Coln Rogers in their patronage if he could procure from the Crown the vicarage of Down Hatherley for Mr Thomas Pugh. Since the procurement of the presentation for Mr Pugh was taking so long, the right presentation to the rectory of Coln Rogers was about to lapse out of the Dean and Chapter's hands. Samuel Broade sought the Bishop's fiat to be attached to the grant of presentation. The Bishop granted this and undertook to take no advantage if the presentation lapsed before Samuel Broade was instituted |
