Archdeacon of Canterbury to induct.
Previous incumbent, Thomas Hughes, was instituted by Abp. Warham 28 Nov. 1531 (f.405v), but on 4 July 1532, Richard Hewes, LLB, was collated by the same Abp. on the resignation of Thomas Hewes (f.416). Valor Ecclesiasticus in 1535 also gives Richard Hewes (1, pp.59,95). Confirmed as Richard by will of Richard Hughes/Hives as vicar of Thornham, 1550 (Index of wills and administration ...in the probate registry at Canterbury, Kent Records, vol. 6, p.248).
