Gastrell noted that nothing certainly belonged to it [i.e. its maintenance]. Earlier sources, including Sir Peter Leycester during the Restotaion, mnetioned it 'as [a] Chap[el] of Ease...; but now (an[no] 1717, pretended to be Domestic to Mr Legh of Adlington'.
