c. 1720 Bishop Gastrell noted under the entry for Redmire that the Curate of Redmire was paid a stipend of £15 per annum according to agreement; Redmire was then served every second Sunday by the same Curate who officiated at Bolton. Under the entry for Bolton he noted that the Curate read prayers and preached at Bolton in the morning one Sunday and the afternoon at Redmire, and the next at Redmire in the morning and Bolton in the afternoon.
