Clergy List (1841) names him in both South Luffenham and Buttermere in the Lake District; a poem in his authorship of same date refers to him also as curate of Plumbland. In Biographical index to "The Diocese of Carlisle 1814-1855: Chancellor Walter Fletcher's 'Diocesan Book' with additional material from Bishop Percy's parish notebooks" ed. Jane Platt, Boydell Press, 2015 his dates are given as 1791 to 1849, as curate of Crosthwaite 1835, curate of Plumbland 1840-49; rector and patron of South Luffenham, Rutland 1828-49; father of James (1817-89 - St Mary Hall, Oxford 1846) and of Paul (1822-1904, also St Mary Hall,)
