Brought proceedings at Northampton Assizes in March, 1844, against a young Frenchwoman for extorting money by means of menacing letters; the jury found her not guilty. Upon his own avowal he had bought the silence of several of his French mistresses. Declared of unsound mind by a jury, June 11, 1850. Died Sept. 11, 1851. Brother of George H. (1831). (Harrow Sch.
