Journal of the Derbyshire Archaeological and Natural History Society, ed Rev. J Charles Cox, (vol 14, 1892), p. 176-216 has 'A register of birds shot by the Rev. Francis Gisborne, rector of Staveley (1759-1821) duly recorded by himself from the year 1761 to 1784', with a portrait of him, where he is described as the 'Founder of the Gisborne Clothing Charity for 100 parishes in Derbyshire'.
