Nearly 30 years a magistrate for Norfolk
'In his holy vocation he was pious, sincere, constant; as a preacher, animated, instructive, impressive; as a pastor watching, admonishing, comforting; as a benefactor charitable, considerate, humane; to these qualities, his numerous congregations, his parish flock, the poor, the sick, the needy, can afford unquestionable testimony. As a magistrate he was loyal, firm, impartial, judicious; the characters are borne on public record, and preserved in tokens conferred by the unaminous vote of the districts of East and West Flegg, in which he acted. As a father! His children, an only son and daughter, forbear to express their sense of his love, his care, his tuition, his example. How they revered him living,it needs not to comment; how they cherish affection for him deceased, this tablet may imperfectly evince.' Died 11 Aug 1821 aged 78
