[John Bridge, Brigade-Major, 45th and 63rd Regts., was Mayor of Colchester, Essex, and married —, dau. of Andrew Mitchell, Physician to the Forces at Chatham, Feb. 1804; they had issue, but only one son, George Bridge, of Upton Park, Slough, Bucks., is mentioned in Burke, L.G., 1937; perhaps a brother of this man and of Stephen, both of whom were of Essex.]
