There would appear to be great confusion between this man and another of these names, 2nd s. of Anthony, of Ardwick, Yorks.; who matric. from Brasenose College, Oxford, June 3, 1776, age 18; B.A. (Oxford) 1780; M.A. (Oxford) 1786. Foster credits the latter with the above-mentioned livings, and claims that the Oxonian was also Archdeacon of Nottingham, 1810-30; but see also William (1798) whose father was John (‘M.A.’), of Sherfield, Hants.
