Camden Lecturer of Wakefield, 1766. R. of Boconnoc and Broadoake, Cornwall, 1766 (or 1773)-1805. R. of St Mary Abchurch and St Lawrence Poultney, Middlesex, 1772-3. ‘A man of genius, accomplishments, learning and the finest taste.’ Somewhat eccentric and surrounded himself with multifarious pet animals. A distinguished antiquary, and friend and correspondent of Locke. Died Dec. 2, 1805, at Boconnoc, Cornwall, aged 69. His tomb was, by his orders, merely inscribed ‘FVI.’ (Lamb; D.N.B. I.; G.
