Preb. of Brecon, 1763. R. of Hockliffe, Beds., with Chalgrave, 1772. V. of Wing, Bucks., 1775-7. A popular preacher in London. For forging a bond on his patron Lord Chesterfield, he was convicted and hanged at Tyburn, June 27, 1777. Author, Beauties of Shakespeare, and of many sermons and other religious works.
