Head Master of Wigan Grammar School, Lancs., 1813-17; under him the school increased so much that it was ordered no more scholars should be taken until the number in the Lower School was reduced to 70. Preb. of Lichfield, 1842. V. of Tarvin, Cheshire, 1842-52. Chaplain to the Bishop of Lichfield. Married Miss Fisher. Died Feb. 28, 1852, aged 64, at Bampton. (G. C.
