It seems likely that this man was vicar at Kinlet until 1631. Various sources state that the parish records with list of incumbents is missing from 1578 to 1682, but that a man called Thomas Kent was vicar from 1617 to 1633; but the CCEd records clearly show the presentation of a John Bent in 1631, and his dispensation records describing him as the son of Thomas Bent 'the previous vicar' or 'to succeed his father Thomas Bent' which certainly suggests Thomas Bent was vicar from 1578 to 1631
