Foster is not clear about a man of this name; he gives an Edward Lewis either as V of Chirbury or of Abbots Morton, Worcs. The latter is CCED ID 81862 and since he died in 1636 is clearly not the one at Chirbury; the dates suggested for degrees are also a bit early for the Chirbury man i.e BA Oriel 29 Jun. 1597; MA 23 Jun. 1605.
Clear that Edward Lewis was V of Chirbury 1628 to death in 1677 and was founder of the oldest Church of England Primary school in the country (1677) still run by the trust that bears his name.
