some doubt on comment in lib. cler. record for 1642 which states a Rawlins V of Stoke Lacy was also V of Wolferlow ('a vayne man'). Same comment made on another 1642 lib. cler. record for a Rawlins who was V of Wolferlow but said also to be R of Stoke Lacy. The man at Wolferlow appears to be Giles Rawlins not James Rawlins; it would seem that the two have been confused; suggest that both 1642 entries in their comments about vanity more likely to relate to Giles Rawlins (CCEd 118466).
** Walker's Sufferings Revised has entry for James Rawlins "MA Ca Prebendary of Hereford, R of Stoke Lacy 1626 and still 1656, died 1661".
