Foster only gives:
BD TRINITY 1 Dec. 1660 (Cat. Grads.); perhaps R of Litchborough, Northants. 1655; deprived for refusing oaths of supremacy 1690; chaplain to Duke of Ormond; succeeded by George Butler 1682 (at Litchborough); See Baker's Northants.
No evidence yet found for earlier university career.
Litchborough and Green's Norton adjacent to each other, and rector noted sometimes as BD; also BD at same time at lower portion of Isham so likely same man.
His dates (in a reference to history of Dukes of Ormond - who were his Butler kinsmen - were 1626-1698.)
Also appears to have been a well-known author on astrology - he set out to attack it as false but came to believe it was a useful science. (See "Religion and the Decline of Magic", Keith Thomas)
