C. of Teddington, Middlesex, 1790-1803. ‘Dr John Cosens died Dec. 23, 1791, and Mackenzie retained his position under the new P.C., Leonard Chappe-low, who, being non-resident, left Mackenzie practically in sole charge.’ To augment his slender income, received candidates for Holy Orders, from Cambridge, and acted as tutor. One of his tests was to take his pupils to Bushey Park and hear them preach from the branches of a tree. Died July 2, 1803, aged 37; buried at Teddington. M.I. Brother of James S. (1787).
