According to notes entered in the burial register of Bilston, Staffs by the Rev Edward Best, William Ward, LLB, died on 20 Jul 1758 of ‘a dropsy & inflammation on the Lungs’ in his 53rd year. He was describes as ‘a Gentleman of good learning’ and also of ‘being of a very sedentary disposition & using little exercise of any kind’. Brother of the Rt Hon John Lord Ward.
