Foster: s. Rob., of Hedington, Wilts., pleb. EXETER COLL. matric 22 April 1668, aged 17; B.A. 27 Jan 1671-2, M.A. 27 March 1675, rector of Easton by Stamford, Northants. 1684, and of Barroden, Rutland, 1686. See Foster's Ind. Eccles.
An assumption is made that Edward White below is Edward Child. This may be a wrong assumption, but no other evidence can be found for a man of these names at Easton by Stamford, and it seems odd that on the death of the incumbent there (Thomas Marshall on 25 Oct. 1683) an Edward White should be instituted on 23 July 1684 'on the death of former incumbent' and that 5 days later an Edward Child should be appointed there as rector - it could be so, but unlikely, and the death referred to would not then make sense.
