Both Foster and Fielding agree on identity. Fielding says at Bromley from 1778, and died on 22nd July not 23rd (mont inscrip at Bromley:
'Sacred to the memory of Henry Smith DD, forty-two years Minister of this parish, and eighteen years Rector of Hedley,who died July 22nd 1818 aged 68.'
