MI in Fielding (1910): In memory of Robert Hawkins, son of the Rev Edward Hawkins, rector of Kelston, Somerset, and grandson of Sir Caesar Hawkins, brt, (serjeant surgeon to George II and George III). Born 1805, he became curatre of this parish in 1831 and vicar in 1834, and died at the vicarage on Feb. 9th 1893, in the 88thn year of his age. During his long incumbency he rebulit the vicarage, restored the parish church, established the national school, and won the esteem and respect of all his parishioners. 'I have finished my course, II Timothy iv.7'. Buried 14/2/1893.
