C. of Wellington, Somerset. C. of Frampton, Lincs. and Master of the Grammar School at Butterwick. Retired to Greenwich, owing to ill-health, in 1809, where he assisted the vicar. Chaplain to the Duchess of Brunswick, 1810; to the Duke of Gloucester, 1812, and subsequently to the Princess Sophia Matilda and to the Bishop of Oxford. Head Master of Colfe's Grammar School, Lewisham, 1814-31. R. of High Halden, Kent, 1835. R. of Great Chart, 1837-42. Author, Sermons. Died Nov. 6, 1842; buried in Greenwich churchyard. (L. L.
