Foster: son of John of Coventry, Warws; batteler Merton College Oxford 1613, migrated to Magdalen Hall, BD 28/06/1625, a noted puritan preacher, vicar of St Stephen's Coleman Street, London, 1625; removed to Boston 1668, pastor of Newhaven in New England, where he died 13/03/1670 ns, brother of Christopher (1613).
