Clark: admitted to Glossop vicarage 25/08/1645 by the Committee for Plundered Ministers on the death of the last incumbent, James Travis; Fryer petitioned the Committee, according to its order admitting him to the living, because he believed that 'in regard of the late National Covenant... it [was] not fit nor safe for him to receive institution and induction... by the bishop of the diocese'; curate of Hayfield from 1622; he made entries in the Glossop parish register from 23/05/1645 and was buried there 08/02/1649.
