Clark: vicar of Mansfield, Notts, 1545-58, probably vicar of Cuckney in 1567 and rector of Tollerton, Notts, 1569; in a report about papists of c. 1581 entitled 'The names and dwelling places of all such at whose houses I have been since my coming into England', appears, 'At Matlock, the parson of the town to whom is great resort'; William Inksyppe rector of Clowne in his will, dated 04/12/1581, made generous bequests to Agnes Waterfall, his servant, on condition that she never marry 'Graunger nor be ruled by the advice or counsel of the poarson of Matlock'.
