Identified in VENN as JOHN WALKDEN: BA, from CHRIST'S, 1617/8; MA 1621. Perhaps son of Robert (1579), bapt. 27 July 1593, at Middleton, Lancs. If so, lecturer at Churchkirk, Lancs., in 1622; Curate of Middleton, Lancs., occurs 1636-41 (E. Axon).
The identification seems plausible, and the Lecturer at Church is unlikely to have been the Curate at Middleton in the same year. But can the identification be independently confirmed?
