Foster: Lydall, Robert, s. Ric., of Oxford (city), DMed. Merton Coll., matric. 16 Oct 1695, aged 16; demy Magdalen Coll. 1697-1705, BA 1699, MA 1702, BD 1710, fellow 1705-25, librarian 1709, vice-president 1720, vicar of Chesterton, Oxon, 1707, rector of Wytham, Berks, 1712, and of Stanlake, Oxon, 1724, until his death 20 Feb 1741-2; brother of Richard 1684 and John 1694. See Bloxam, vi. 132; Foster's Index Eccl.
The puzzling thing about this career record is that the patron of the vicarage of Chesterton was New College, Oxford, with which RL appears to have no connection.
