Possessed of considerable wealth, being owner of Woodgates Manor, Dorset, Woodland, Wilts., and Rolleston, near Exeter. Married, July 29, 1797, Marianne, dau. of Francis Wishaw, of Aston Hall, Herts. During the latter part of his life resided at Bath. Died there May 13, 1842; buried at Kelston, Somerset, where there is an alter tomb with the inscription: ‘Beneath are laid the remains of The Rev. William Meyrick, M.A.’ (Manchester Gr. Sch. Reg., II. 103; St John's Coll. Adm., IV. 383.)
