Acting Magistrate for Leicestershire. On the occasion of a riot at Barrow-upon-Soar in 1795, he accompanied the Leicester troops and by his firmness was mainly instrumental in quelling the disturbance. Married Lucy, dau. of Richard Dyott, Esq., of Freeford Hall, Staffs., Aug. 2, 1785. Died Feb. 1, 1830, aged 68, at St Margaret's vicarage. Father of the next and Robert (1813). (G.
