Possibly both records relate to:
Foster: Jones, Edward, s. John, of Kidwelly, co. Carmarthen, pleb. Jesus Coll., matric 24 Mar 1714-15, aged 15; BA 1718, MA 1721, BD 1728, DD by diploma 19 June 1748, then rector of Aston Clinton, Bucks.
Possibly the first ordination record may relate to:
Jones, Edward, s. Joh., of Landingad, co. Carmart, pleb. Jesus Coll., matric 7 Nov 1712, aged 16; BA 1716, perhaps MA from King's Coll., Cambridge, 1719.
There are other Edward Jones's of Jesus College, Oxford, but, according to Foster, none took a degree.
