Held various College offices, 1816-18. C. of Hatfield Broad Oak, Essex, 1816-27. C. of Beckenham, Kent, 1828-32. C. of Hatfield Broad Oak, June, 1832-May, 1833. Married Margaret Maria, dau. of John Ferard, vinegar-merchant, of Huguenot extraction. Established a school for poor children near Hatfield Broad Oak, still called the Leicester School, though subsequently rebuilt and forming an elementary School for Bushend. Died after a long illness Nov. 8, 1833, at Brighton. Father of William H. (1841), Frederick (1850), Morton A. (1844) and the next. (F. W. Galpin; Peile, II. 372; G.
