According to his own account (advertisement to Naology) he spent a long and happy life as a retired student, occupying himself chiefly with mythological and philosophical studies. Author, The Metamorphosis of Sona, a Hindu tale in verse, 1810; A Dissertation showing the identities of Rivers Niger and Nile, 1821; Naology, 1846; The Anti-Materialist, 1849.
