Foster: son of David of Hannington, Hants., cler., (CCEd ID 53752) ST MARY HALL, matric. 28 Oct. 1793 aged 22; V of Dewsall, Herefs., and PC of Aconbury, 1808; V of Messingham, Lincoln, 1840, died 2 Dec. 1857
His death recorded in 1820 seems certainly to be an error; he became V of Messingham 1827 (Foster records him there in 1840); date of death means he was 86 when he died which is age given in newspaper reports e.g. Stamford Mercury on 11 Dec. 1857. His will describes him as clerk of Havant, and the newspaper reports state he died at Southampton.
