Richard Cardwell, Minister of St Paul's, Liverpool, died there Dec. 11, 1839, aged 61; he was of Ellerbeck, Lancs., s. of Richard Cardwell, merchant, of Blackburn, by his second wife Jane, dau. of John Hodson, M.P., of Wigan, and sister of John Hodson, of Ellerbeck.
