Although said to be BD there is no trace of this man in Foster or Venn (Foster would be most likely as he is linked with one of the Wardens of All Souls') under surname Compton or his alias Treale or Theale. Worcester Fasti confirms he was 2nd prebend at Worcester; chaplain to Henry VIII (though CCED records say to the king's wife); chancellor of Hereford; formerly a monk of Pershore and Bannister p.10 confirms that he had died by 1 May 1555
