Adm. sizar (age 18) at TRINITY, Mar. 23, 1790. [2nd s. of Thomas, of Lambeth, Surrey. B. there, Sept. 20, 1771. School, Merchant Taylors'.] Migrated to Pembroke, July 8, 1790. ' Matric. Michs. 1790; B.A. 1794. Adm. at the Inner Temple, May 19, 1786. Proposed a famous emendation to The Tempest, which was condemned 'by Universal English editorial consent.' (Notes and Queries (5) 7, 1841; Merchant Taylors' Sch. Reg.; Inns of Court; not to be confused with an Oxford contemporary namesake who was in Holy Orders.)
