Foster: s. John, of Kingston-on-Hull, Yorks, gent. Corpus Christi Coll., matric. 28 Aug., 1634, aged 20; B.A. 19 Jan., 1635-6, served the cure of Penshurst, Kent, vicar of Tudeley and Capel about two years, Old Romney till 1657, rector of St. Mildred's in Canterbury 1657-71, and of All Saints and St. Peter's, Canterbury, 1671, until his death, 1 April, 1692, buried in the chancel of St. Peter's.
