'Lived chiefly in London, where he was in great request as a preacher at the fashionable chapels'. Married, 1810, Ann, only dau. of Patrick Telfer, of Gower Street, and had issue. Edited his father's extensive collection of drawings and notes on the history of Bury St Edmunds Abbey. The first part was published, 1805, as Monastic Remains of the Town and Abbey of St Edmunds Bury; the second part did not appear until after his death. Author also of History of Bury Abbey and of a pamphlet, The Church in Danger. Died Aug. 24, 1834, at Penshurst, Kent. Father of William (1835); brother of William (1799).
