J.P. Earwaker, East Cheshire, 2 vols. (1877-80), 2.58, notes that Booth is named in the Marple register, but subsequently J. Wilde (Curate of Chadkirk), John Hadfield, Curate of Mellor, R. Nicholson, clerk, and Mr Mayer are found occasionally officiating. On 31 Dec. 1761 Thomas Beeley succeeded as Curate of Marple upon Booth's resignation.
